Measure beds before choosing depth
Mulch estimates are strongest when each bed has length, width, desired depth, current material condition, and photos. One inch refreshes a cleaner bed; deeper installs may be needed where material is thin or soil is exposed.
Separate prep, removal, edging, and spreading
Bed cleanup, old mulch removal, weed barrier, edging, delivery, spreading, and disposal can change the scope. Keeping those items separate makes the estimate easier to compare and avoids vague all-in wording.
Mulch is not a permanent weed guarantee
Fresh mulch can improve appearance and reduce exposed soil, but it should not be described as permanent weed prevention. Weed pressure, bed depth, irrigation, edging, and maintenance still matter.
